Is Your Office Desk Height Adjustable?
Mr. Bernstein had more than his share of responsibilities. He worked six days a week as an accountant, balancing the books and keeping things in order. Day by day, he would open the books and begin the tedious job of adding and subtracting the assets and deficits of the multi-million dollar company he worked for. Although he loved his job, Mr. Bernstein was noticing that by noon, his arms, neck and shoulders were stiff and aching. He would take a short break to stretch and relax, but upon resuming his work, the pain and stiffness would return. He realized that when he worked, he was leaning over his desk for hours, rather than sitting up straight. He talked his boss into letting him try a height adjustable computer desk and much to their surprise, within one day, Mr. Bernstein’s aches and pains were gone. Raising the height of the desk allowed him to sit up straight, avoid leaning over and thus, get more work done.
